Karen Platt joined Mayerson Stutman Abramowitz in 2007. In addition to her practice in matrimonial and family law, Karen represents entertainment companies in connection with the court approval of minor children’s contracts. A trained mediator and collaborative lawyer, Karen is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Karen is also actively involved in the litigation and negotiation of matrimonial cases.
Prior to and during law school, Karen worked in the financial industry as a registered representative at a major investment company. She then became a paralegal in the matrimonial department at Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo, P.C., where she continued to work as an associate after completing law school.
Karen received her J.D., magna cum laude, from New York Law School, where she was an evening student and a Chief Notes and Comments Editor for the Journal of Human Rights. She received her B.S. in Psychology, With Distinction, from the Pennsylvania State University, and with Honors as a member of the University Scholar’s Program (now the Schreyer Honors College).
Karen is a member of the New York City Bar Association, where she previously sat on the committee for Legal Education and Admission to the Bar. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association.
